At the age of five Juba and his family lived in a refugee camp for twelve years in Uganda. When he was eighteen, the United Nations High Commissioners for Refugees (UNHCR) recruited him and his family to live in Saskatoon. There,, he had to overcome many obstacles to achieve one of his biggest dreams attending school. This new play to increase awareness of the global refugee crisis. The Newcomer is a story of survival as our world is currently facing the biggest human displacement ever witnessed.
